Every number on PracticingCraps comes from Monte Carlo simulation: 200,000 simulated hours per strategy and 1,000,000+ trials per bet, using standard Las Vegas rules and payouts.

What we simulate

Strategies are played for 200,000 separate hour-long sessions of 100 rolls each (about an hour at a busy table), starting on a new shooter with a $500 buy-in. At the end of each hour we stop betting, take down bets that can be removed and let contract bets (Pass Line, Come) finish, the same as coloring up. Nothing is counted at face value.

Bets are simulated on their own, one decision at a time, with 1,000,000 or more trials each. For bets with rare jackpots (Fire Bet, Repeaters, Hard All Day) we quote the exact house edge from the math alongside the simulated frequency, because a few 999:1 hits swing a simulation more than they swing reality.

Rules we use

Dice

Every roll uses a cryptographically secure random number generator with rejection sampling, so each face comes up exactly 1 in 6. The same dice engine runs the free game on our home page.

How accurate is it?

For everyday bets, the simulated house edge lands within a fraction of a percent of the exact math: the Pass Line comes out at about 1.41%, Don't Pass at 1.36%, placing the 6 at 1.52%. Per-hour strategy results carry a few dollars of noise from run to run. Treat them as estimates of what a strategy costs, not predictions of any real session.
